Year 5 Orientation 2022

(updated 26 January 2022)

Dear Year 5s,

Welcome to SJI! And to our returning Integrated Programme (IP) students, welcome back!

The school year for Year 5s begins on Monday 7 February 2022.

We hope that this would be an enriching and fulfilling year for you as you embark on the two-year International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) at SJI.

Year 5 Orientation will be from Monday 7 February 2022 to Thursday 10 February 2022.

Please report to SJI in your formal secondary school uniform on Monday 7 February by 7:25am.

Do bring along your writing materials and a set of school PE attire. You must also have with you your TraceTogether token or app and a working personal thermometer.

Purchase of SJI Year 5/6 school uniform

Year 5 students will have to wear the SJI Year 5/6 formal school uniform for the first time on the morning of Thursday 10 February 2022.

The school uniform may be purchased from United Uniforms (Toa Payoh branch). Kindly note that United Uniforms outlets will be closed for their Chinese New Year break, from Friday 28 January to Sunday 6 February 2022. Business will resume on Monday 7 February 2022.

Please refer to the United Uniforms website for details, information and appointment booking (where applicable).

Students are strongly encouraged to purchase their uniforms online over the 4-6 February weekend, as Orientation activities on 7-9 February can end in the late afternoon. To facilitate delivery and self-collection, SJI has made arrangements with United Uniforms to deliver your orders to SJI for self-collection if you place your online orders by the dates and times indicated in the table below.

Students' allocation to a fraternity will be made known on the first day of Orientation. Please only purchase the SJI PE T-shirt after you have found out your fraternity, as the PE T-shirt has the fraternity coloured tag sewn on its sleeve.

Please refer to the School Directives on Uniform before you make your purchase, and to factor in room for growth in your choice of uniform size.

See you in SJI soon!

Welcome!

Dear Parents and Students,

Welcome to the SJI Year 5 (2022) Level Website!

This website is one of the platforms to update parents on some of the programmes and activities that will take place for our Year 5 students in the year 2022. All of our communications to students and parents will also be via email, which is our key mode of communication.

We hope that with better communication, the school together with parents, would be better able to support our students to maximise their academic learning potential and to develop our students holistically.

It is also our wish that there is an effective mode of communication between parents and class tutors for the development of our students.

We welcome your valuable feedback anytime to better support your child's needs. Please feel free to provide us with your suggestions or comments.

Ms Beatrice Cho
